Destinations

Add a destination in RudderStack Cloud.

A destination is a cloud tool or a platform where you want to send data via RudderStack.

Add a destination

  1. Log in to the RudderStack dashboard.
  2. Click Add Destination and select the destination.
  3. Assign a name to the destination and click Continue.
  4. Select a source to connect to the destination.

You will see all the compatible sources for the destination in this view.
  1. Configure the destination with the relevant connection settings. See the destination-specific documentation for details.
  2. Select a transformation to transform your events before sending them to the destination. Click Create New Transformation to add a new transformation from scratch.
  3. Click Continue to finish the setup.

Destination details

Once your destination is set up, you will see the following options:

  • Rename: Lets you rename the destination by clicking the edit icon next to the destination’s name.

  • Duplicate destination: Lets you create a clone/copy of the destination with the same configuration settings. See Clone a destination for more information.
  • Live Events: Lets you view the destination live events.
  • Sources: Displays all sources connected to a destination and their status. You can also connect a new source by clicking the Add source button.
  • Transformation: Lets you connect a new or existing transformation to your destination.
  • Events: Displays all the event delivery-related metrics like number of delivered and failed events. You can also filter these metrics by source and time period.
  • Configuration: Lets you edit the destination’s connection settings. Click the Edit configuration button to make the changes.
  • Settings: Displays general destination-specific settings like:
    • Enabled: Lets you enable or disable syncing data to the destination.
    • Destination ID: Unique identifier for your destination.
    • Permanently delete destination: Lets you delete the destination by clicking on the Delete button. Before you delete a destination, make sure there are no sources connected to it.
    • Alerts: Set alert overrides for this destination. Only users with Org Admin or Connections Admin permissions can see this option. See Configurable Alerts for more information.
  • Audit Log: Lets you view the audit logs for the destination.

Audit logs are available only in the RudderStack Cloud Enterprise plan.
  • Syncs: This tab is present in all warehouse destinations. It shows all the sync-related metrics for all sources connected to the warehouse, like source and schema name, timestamp of the first and last event in the upload batch, and duration of the sync.
  • Permissions: Lets you determine which members in your workspace can make changes to the destination. This is useful when you want to set granular controls for the resources within your workspace. See Permissions Management for more details.

Clone a destination

RudderStack lets you clone/duplicate a destination with the same configuration settings and connect it to different sources. This is useful for efficient pipeline management.

  1. Click the Duplicate Destination option next to your destination name.

  1. Assign a name to the new destination and click Continue.
  2. Connect a source to the destination to complete the setup.

View event metrics

Go to the Events tab of your Event Stream destination to check the following metrics:

  • Events delivered successfully
  • Failed events (due to processing, transformation, and delivery errors)
  • P95 latency across all Event Stream sources

RudderStack shows the P95 latency metric only for Event Stream destinations connected to sources in cloud mode. It is not applicable for:

You can filter these metrics by source and duration. RudderStack also shows you the event delivery and latency trends in this view along with details on delivery failures.
